There’s something deeply meditative about baking. The quiet rhythm of measuring, mixing, folding, and waiting feels like a moving meditation, a practice that draws me out of my head and into the present moment.

Years ago, after graduating from Le Cordon Bleu, I poured myself into the world of baking and pastry. I worked in the kitchens of restaurants and hotels, learning the craft and pushing myself under the heat and pressure of professional service. I loved the art, the creativity, the transformation of simple ingredients into something transcendent. But I didn’t love the stress—the constant urgency, the intensity that left little space for breath. Eventually, I chose to step away from doing it as a profession.

Now, I’ve come back to baking—but on my own terms. I bake for me. For the joy of it. For the stillness it creates. For the way it lets me reconnect to a part of myself I had tucked away for years.

This was my creation from last night—born not from deadlines or tickets piling up, but from a place of mindfulness, love, and pure enjoyment. ✨

Sometimes, the most beautiful things we create are the ones made in peace.

Sundays are my day to pause. To let my body and spirit catch up with everything I’ve been pouring into the week. It’s a lot right now—painting and pouring my heart into Glare: Shades of Fame, rehearsing with the brilliant Al Holliday for our December 12th CastleLoft gig, shaping and leading the RestSMART program for People’s, keeping my column alive in Viva Glam Magazine, and training hard to get my body in its best form for that stage.

Each of these projects feels so authentic, so aligned with who I am and the life I’ve fought to create. They’re not just boxes on a checklist—they’re extensions of my voice, my healing, my artistry. But even when the work feels meaningful, it can still be a lot. That’s why Sundays matter so much to me. It’s the one day I give myself permission to chill. To breathe. To reflect. To remember that rest isn’t laziness—it’s fuel.

So today, I’m simply grateful. For the art. For the music. For the words. For the movement. And for the stillness in between. 🌿✨

When I got sober a year and four months ago, I thought I was giving something up. The glass in my hand, the escape hatch, the familiar blur — it felt like losing a friend, even if that friend was slowly killing me. What I didn’t know then was that sobriety wasn’t about subtraction. It was about addition.

I added mornings that feel fresh instead of heavy. I added laughter that doesn’t need to be blurred at the edges. I added the courage to sit with my feelings instead of running from them. Sobriety didn’t take away my life — it gave me one.

The truth is, this journey has been brutal at times. Healing doesn’t arrive gift-wrapped; it arrives raw, unpredictable, and demanding. There are days when sobriety feels like standing naked in front of the world with nothing to hide behind. And yet, it’s in those moments of exposure that I’ve found my greatest strength.

The Betty Ford Center was the doorway. Walking through it meant admitting I couldn’t do this alone. It meant surrender, which for me was the hardest word to swallow. But what I found there was support, healing, and the reminder that brokenness doesn’t mean ending — it means beginning again.

Writing about it helps me keep that truth alive. Every word I put down is another anchor, holding me steady in the storms that still come. Sobriety isn’t a finish line I’ve crossed; it’s a daily choice, a commitment to keep building a life that feels like mine.

One year and four months later, I’m not who I was. I’m someone new — someone clearer, steadier, more alive. And maybe the real miracle of sobriety is that in losing the life I thought I needed, I discovered the life I was meant to live.

On Friday, December 12, 2025, Rocco Pink will return for a one night only, invite-only live performance at CastleLoft in St. Louis. The evening promises intimacy and authenticity — homemade pizza, fine wine, and music stripped to its core. Pink will share the stage with Al Holliday, the powerhouse St. Louis musician whose gritty soul sound and roots-driven energy have made him one of the city’s most beloved performers.

The pairing feels both unlikely and inevitable: Pink, an artist rediscovering his voice after decades away, and Holliday, a force of nature on the local music scene. Together, they will create a concert that bridges past and present, experience and rebirth.

But this night isn’t just about music. Admission is free of charge, with guests invited instead to bring a new, unwrapped toy. The concert supports the People’s Community Action Corporation Toy Drive, in partnership with the Downtown Saint Louis YMCA.

First round of oil going down on my Joan ✨ — background complete and I’m absolutely loving how it’s coming together so far. I’ll let this layer breathe and dry before moving on to the face, where I’ll start building skin tone, shading, and all the subtle details that bring her to life.

I work in layers, slowly stacking depth and texture, so each step feels like watching the piece take its first real breaths. The process is as meditative as it is creative, and I’m really proud of how my Warhol turned out — it gave me the confidence to push deeper into this series.

480 days sober today! And I think about the Betty Ford Center almost every day. Some mornings it feels like yesterday, other times like a lifetime ago. Walking through those doors, I was broken, scared, ashamed… but it turned out to be the most healing, humbling, and empowering experience of my life.

I hold my sobriety very gently and I’m very protective over it.

I’ll never forget the nights I cried, the truths I faced, the walls that finally came down. I’ll never forget the people who sat beside me in silence when words weren’t enough, who laughed with me when I didn’t think I’d ever laugh again, who showed me that love, forgiveness, and strength were possible. The friendships I made there are real, deep, and lasting—they’re stitched into my soul.

This gold coin is my reminder. It’s not just about sobriety—it’s about survival. It’s about courage. It’s about the little boy in me who kept believing there would be a day worth fighting for.

Written by the brilliant John Hurley and Ronnie Wilkins, this track has always been drenched in temptation and tease… which, let’s be honest, makes it pretty damn fitting. 😏

I’m a meditation and mindfulness instructor dedicated to bringing practical wellness tools to diverse communities. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of guiding corporations in implementing mindfulness practices that foster focus, reduce stress, and strengthen workplace culture.

My community work has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my journey. I developed and led meditation sessions for inmates at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and Detention Facility in Denver, Colorado. In its very first year, my volunteer program reached more than 2,000 participants. I also share my work through Airbnb Experiences, where my signature meditation offering has received more than 172 five-star reviews from guests from all over the world.

In 2017, I co-organized a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest global meditation gathering, which was hosted in Denver and live-streamed to Yale University.

There are seasons in life when the ground beneath us feels unsteady. The days feel too long, the nights too quiet, and the noise of the world too loud. I’ve been there—when heartache, loss, or uncertainty pressed so heavily that it felt impossible to breathe.

In those moments, I didn’t need anything complicated. I didn’t need a guru or a mountain retreat. I needed something simple. Something I could reach for in the middle of the storm. Meditation became that for me—not a lofty idea, but a lifeline.

There’s something so deeply healing about stripping away the layers—literally. ✨

When I’m home, I do almost everything naked. I paint naked. I sing naked. I play the piano naked. I work out naked. Because for me, being nude isn’t just about skin—it’s about freedom. It’s about reconnecting to my body in the most honest way possible, without shame, judgment, or pretense.

I seek out spaces where nudity is celebrated—naked campgrounds, clothing-optional resorts, and naturist gatherings—because those places remind me that bodies are not dirty, they’re divine. That sex is not taboo, but sacred. And that embracing our sensuality is one of the most natural, grounding, and joyful parts of being human.

Body positivity and sex positivity go hand in hand. When we honor our bodies as they are, we open the door to experiencing intimacy, connection, and pleasure in fuller, more authentic ways. When we release shame, we create room for love—self-love, love of others, love of life itself.

Nudity and sexuality are not things to hide—they are powerful, healing forces that remind us that we are alive, whole, and worthy. 🌈

It’s been almost 3 years since I last painted. Back then, I was living at my aunt’s house in California, grieving my mom, and using painting as my therapy. In that stretch of time, I created 22 acrylic paintings — each one a conversation with my own heart. They now hang framed around my loft, a constant source of comfort, like old friends silently keeping watch.

Now, I’m stepping back into the studio — but this time, I’m not just painting. I’m taking a leap.

Glare: Shades of Fame will be my most ambitious work yet: 15 large-scale abstract portraits of cultural icons, plus one self-portrait. Each piece will capture the essence of a figure whose image shaped the world, told through my own abstract language. And for the first time ever, I’m going mixed media.

The foundation is acrylic — blocking out bold, emotional shapes on birch wood panels. I’ve just finished that base layer for the first portrait in the series: Andy Warhol. Next comes the unknown — working with oil paint sticks and bars for the very first time, smudging, blending, and sculpting pigments with my hands to create rich, skin-like textures.

It’s unfamiliar. It’s risky. But so was picking up a brush three years ago when I didn’t know if my heart could keep going. That risk saved me then — maybe this one will take me somewhere new.

1 year. 3 months. Sober.

Fifteen months of breathing without poison in my lungs, without regret in my bloodstream. Fifteen months of waking up with all my senses intact, and yet… still searching.

Since leaving the Betty Ford Center, I’ve thrown myself into everything—songs that carry my voice into the world again, words that bleed onto pages, paint that stains my hands. I create because it keeps me alive. I create because silence feels heavier than relapse.

But here’s what I rarely say—most days, I feel like I’m floating in space without a tether. No parents to call, no family to lean into. I am unclaimed. I am my own. And yet, there is an ache inside me for a place I’ve never been.

I search for eyes that will really see me, for a presence that will make me feel like I belong. But when I ask myself for what and for who I am staying sober, the answer comes quiet but steady:

It is for me.

Still… I wonder if I’ve been lost my whole life. If “being found” is a fairy tale I keep hoping is true. Or maybe it’s something completely different— I don’t know.

For now, I walk forward. Even without a map. Even with the loneliness. Even with the questions.

I walk forward because standing still has never saved me.

Rocco Pink, whose full name is Rocco Pink DeCarlo is a bold force of nature—he's a recording artist, writer, model, and wellness trailblazer known for his unapologetic authenticity.
